Arsenal Crowned Premier League Champions as Bournemouth Hold Manchester City to a Draw

Arsenal are Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years after Manchester City could only manage a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth on Tuesday evening, ending City's title hopes with one game to spare.
Eli Junior Kroupi's curling finish in the first half proved the decisive moment in a night that sparked jubilant celebrations across north London. Erling Haaland equalised deep into injury time — after Rodri had struck the post — but City could not find the winner they needed, and the title is heading to the Emirates Stadium.
The result also marks a historic low point for manager Pep Guardiola, who has now gone back-to-back seasons without the Premier League title for the first time in his managerial career. With Guardiola widely expected to depart City at the season's end, Sunday's home fixture against Aston Villa appears to be little more than a farewell.
Kroupi's moment of magic
City showed glimpses of intent in the first half, with Jeremy Doku forcing Djorde Petrovic into an early stop, but they struggled to truly threaten the Cherries. Bournemouth, meanwhile, were wasteful at the other end — Evanilson spurning a glaring opportunity from six yards before the offside flag compounded his misfortune.
The breakthrough arrived when Adrien Truffert drove down the left flank and cut the ball back to Kroupi, whose finish arrowed into the top corner, leaving Gianluigi Donnarumma with no chance.
City's response falls short
Guardiola sought a rapid reply and almost found one within seconds of the restart, but Petrovic denied Nico O'Reilly when the City defender was played clean through. Guardiola then threw on Rayan Cherki, Phil Foden, and Savinho in an attacking reshuffle, yet it was Bournemouth who continued to create the cleaner openings.
Kroupi curled narrowly wide from the edge of the area, before Rayan rattled the post from close range at a corner. David Brooks then missed two golden chances to seal the win — one of which saw him hit the woodwork when through on goal.
Haaland's equaliser in the final minute kept City's arithmetic technically alive for seconds, but the full-time whistle confirmed what had already felt inevitable: Arsenal are champions.
Iraola's European farewell
The draw also confirmed that Bournemouth will play European football next season — a remarkable achievement for a club of their size. It proved a fitting send-off for head coach Andoni Iraola, whose final home match in charge ended in triumph of its own kind.
