Millwall winger Femi Azeez has set his sights firmly on winning the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria, declaring the tournament his greatest ambition after a brilliant debut for the Super Eagles.
The 24-year-old, who previously played for Reading, marked his international bow with two goals in Nigeria's 2-0 Unity Cup semi-final victory over Zimbabwe — and he is already hungry for more.
A debut to remember
Azeez wasted no time announcing himself on the international stage. Just five minutes into the match, he capped a slick team move by unleashing a left-footed strike that goalkeeper Future Sibanda could not keep out.
His second came in the 62nd minute, when a flowing move saw Otele pick out Terem Moffi, who then laid the ball into the path of Azeez inside the box. The winger finished with composure to double Nigeria's advantage.
Speaking to reporters after the match, Azeez outlined his ambitions for the national team.
