Chelsea are on the lookout for a new permanent manager after dismissing Liam Rosenior following a tenure of just 106 days, making this the club's third managerial search of the season. Meanwhile, several Premier League clubs are circling Bayer Leverkusen's Malik Tillman.

Chelsea's managerial candidates

According to TeamTalk, Al Ahli boss Matthias Jaissle has emerged as one name on Chelsea's shortlist. The 38-year-old began his managerial career in 2021 with Red Bull-affiliated Austrian club FC Liefering before spending two years at Red Bull Salzburg. His relative lack of experience, however, mirrors the profile that proved costly with Rosenior.

Chelsea are also hoping to hold talks with Germany national team manager Julian Nagelsmann. Outgoing Premier League managers Oliver Glasner of Crystal Palace and Andoni Iraola of AFC Bournemouth are said to be under consideration, as is Como head coach Cesc Fàbregas.

ESPN senior writer Mark Ogden has assessed Rosenior's ill-fated spell at Stamford Bridge, noting that doubts over his suitability were apparent almost immediately after his appointment.

In truth, it was also clear on Day 1 considering his lack of top-level coaching experience and the naïve belief of BlueCo, Chelsea's owner, that Rosenior could make the transition from coaching partner club Strasbourg to leading a dressing room of big-name players at Stamford Bridge following Enzo Maresca's dismissal.

Sources told ESPN that Rosenior was privately rattled by criticism he received during his time in charge, at one point confronting his detractors directly — a distraction that those around him found surprising.

Tillman attracting Premier League interest

USMNT attacker Malik Tillman is drawing attention from multiple Premier League clubs. TeamTalk report that Bournemouth have now entered the race alongside Fulham and Brentford. A move to the south coast would see Tillman reunite with international teammate Tyler Adams. Leverkusen are open to offers, though a €35 million option that would allow Bayern Munich — his former club — to re-sign him could shape any negotiations.

PSG eye West Ham and Monaco talent

Paris Saint-Germain have made contact with West Ham United regarding midfielder Mateus Fernandes, according to Footmercato. Fernandes, ranked 33rd in ESPN's under-21 player rankings, would follow Gonçalo Ramos, João Neves, and Nuno Mendes as Portuguese talents to arrive at the Parc des Princes in recent years.

PSG are also monitoring AS Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche, though several Premier League clubs are competing for the 24-year-old France international. Monaco are reportedly open to selling Akliouche to ease their financial position.

Gordon on Bayern's radar, Vlahovic's future unclear

Bayern Munich are prioritising a move for Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon and Hertha BSC defensive midfielder Kennet Eichhorn, according to Sky Sports Germany. Gordon's arrival would reunite him with England captain Harry Kane at club level.

Both Bayern Munich and AC Milan are weighing the prospect of signing Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović on a free transfer if he does not extend his contract at the Turin club. Sky Sports Italia also report that Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski, whose deal expires this summer, could be an option for Juventus. The futures of both players remain unresolved ahead of the transfer window.

Other rumours in brief

Liverpool could allow Alexis Mac Allister to leave, with Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid ready to make their move, per Football Insider. Manchester United have told Bruno Fernandes he is not for sale under any circumstances, according to The Sun. Juventus are in advanced talks over Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker, with wages the main sticking point, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter Milan, Aston Villa, and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, who is considering leaving Anfield, talkSPORT report. John Stones is set to depart Manchester City as a free agent this summer and is expected to attract significant European interest, per The Athletic. West Ham United centre back Konstantinos Mavropanos is keen on a move to Borussia Dortmund, Football Insider add.
