Former Ghana Black Stars and Newcastle United head coach Chris Hughton has disclosed that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year, describing his recovery as smooth and encouraging others — particularly Black men — to seek early medical advice.

Hughton, 67, underwent surgery to have his prostate removed last May. Speaking to the Daily Mail via ESPN, he said the procedure went well and that he is in strong health a year on from the operation.
