Cesc Fàbregas has ended speculation over his future by declaring his commitment to Como, insisting he has no intention of leaving the Italian club despite reported interest from larger organisations.

Speaking to Sky Sport following a meeting with the club's president and director, the Como manager was unequivocal about where his focus lies heading into next season.

"We have consolidated the idea; the vision is already on the next season. I am thrilled here; as you know, I am missing a step or two more, and I am learning a lot. We are creating a mentality," Fàbregas said.

He added: "The growth of this club has been too fast; since we started it, it has been two and a half years that we have been pushing expectations. We are aware of what we are; we have a clear vision. A masterpiece, but from today we start to prepare for a tough and different season."

A meteoric rise through Italian football

Fàbregas's declaration comes on the back of one of Italian football's most remarkable recent stories. Como 1907 finished fourth in Serie A this season, securing qualification for the UEFA Champions League — a staggering achievement for a club that was playing in the fourth division of Italian football, Serie D, just seven years ago and was facing bankruptcy.

The Spaniard arrived at Como initially as a player before transitioning into an interim managerial role and eventually being appointed permanent head coach. In just over two years at the helm, he guided the club from Serie B all the way to European football's premier club competition.

His influence has extended beyond the dugout. Fàbregas has been heavily involved in talent identification, most notably bringing in young players such as Nico Paz and Ramon from Real Madrid Castilla through the club's scouting network.

Chelsea links dismissed

The confirmation of his stay will come as a relief to Como supporters, with speculation having linked him to Chelsea and other high-profile clubs in the wake of the club's extraordinary season. Fàbregas, however, appears fully invested in the long-term project he has helped build from the ground up.

With Champions League football on the horizon, Como now face the considerable challenge of competing in Europe while consolidating their position among Italy's elite — a task Fàbregas appears eager to embrace.
