Galatasaray President Rules Out Victor Osimhen Sale Amid Madrid and Barcelona Interest

Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has moved to silence transfer speculation surrounding Victor Osimhen, insisting the Nigerian striker is not for sale despite reported interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Speaking to HT Spor, Ozbek was emphatic in his stance ahead of the summer transfer window.
"We are not considering selling Osimhen. Osimhen is an important player for Galatasaray. We are not considering selling an important player in our championship race. Putting a price on someone you don't intend to sell is like counting your chickens before they hatch. We don't have such a thing in mind. Osimhen is making the second-generation Galatasaray fans happy."
From loan to permanent fixture
Osimhen initially arrived at the Turkish club on loan from Napoli in 2024 before the deal was made permanent the following summer. At 27, the striker has rapidly become the heartbeat of Okan Buruk's side.
His impact across the 2024/25 season was remarkable. He scored 26 goals and contributed 4 assists in 30 league appearances, helping Galatasaray claim a domestic double and earning the Süper Lig top-scorer award in the process.
Across all competitions this season, Osimhen registered 22 goals and 8 assists in 33 appearances, playing a central role in the club retaining the Süper Lig title and advancing to the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
Super Eagles return on the horizon
Beyond club football, Osimhen is set to pull on the green and white of Nigeria once more. Head coach Éric Chelle named the former Lille forward in the Super Eagles squad for upcoming international friendlies against Poland and Portugal next month.
The call-up marks Osimhen's return to international duty after he was absent from Nigeria's friendly fixtures against Iran and Jordan in March.
