Barcelona and Spain forward Lamine Yamal will miss the rest of the La Liga season after sustaining a hamstring injury, though the club say they expect him to recover in time for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The 18-year-old was hurt during Wednesday's 1-0 win over Celta Vigo. Yamal had put Barcelona ahead from the penalty spot in the 40th minute before immediately gesturing to the bench and sinking to the ground, clutching his left hamstring. Medical staff helped him off the pitch, and he headed straight down the tunnel.
