Malawi Government Denies Fake Presidential Congratulations to Arsenal, Threatens Legal Action

The government of Malawi has issued an official statement refuting claims that its president sent a congratulatory message to Arsenal following their Premier League title victory — and has warned that whoever fabricated the post could face fines or imprisonment.
The false message, purportedly from Malawi president Professor Arthur Mutharika, circulated widely on social media in the wake of Arsenal's first top-flight championship since the famous 2003-04 'Invincibles' season. The Gunners were confirmed champions on Tuesday night after Manchester City could only draw 1-1 with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
