Arsenal's Max Dowman has etched his name into Premier League history once more, becoming the youngest player ever to win the title at 16 years and 144 days old — comfortably surpassing the record previously held by Manchester City's Phil Foden.

Dowman will reach that age on the final day of the season, earning himself one of the 40 commemorative medals awarded to the Premier League champions. He qualifies for the honour having made more than the minimum five league appearances required during the campaign.

Already a record-holder

This is not the first time Dowman has rewritten the history books. In January, the teenager became the youngest Premier League goalscorer when he netted a superb solo strike to seal Arsenal's 2-0 victory over Everton — a feat he achieved at just 16 years and 73 days old.

Now, months later, he adds a league title winner's medal to that landmark, cementing his place as one of the most remarkable young talents the English top flight has seen.

Foden's long-standing record broken

Phil Foden had held the record for the youngest Premier League title winner after making his record-clinching fifth appearance in Manchester City's final game of the 2017/18 season against Southampton. Foden was on the pitch when Gabriel Jesus scored a stoppage-time winner that took City to a historic 100-point tally. That record stood for years — until Dowman's rise made it a footnote.

According to premierleague.com, Dowman's achievement marks another milestone in what is already shaping up to be an extraordinary career at the Emirates.
