Melissa Reddy has revealed she is returning to writing books after Sky Sports confirmed her departure as part of a significant summer cull at the broadcaster.

Sky Sports are parting ways with seven on-screen figures, including presenters Teddy Draper and Jasper Taylor, reporters Jeremy Langdon and Fadumo Okow, and Rob Wotton, whose programme The Football Show has been cancelled. Among all of them, Reddy is the most recognisable name.

A new chapter after three years at Sky Sports

Reddy spent three years as a senior reporter at the broadcaster, becoming a prominent presence on Sky Sports News and across social media. She fronted coverage of Manchester United and Liverpool in particular, and marked 11 seasons covering the Premier League as her time at Sky Sports drew to a close.

Taking to Instagram to address her followers, Reddy offered a glimpse into what comes next — and confirmed the news many had been waiting for.
