Millwall Reject £20m Bid from Ipswich Town for Femi Azeez

Millwall have turned down a renewed £20 million offer from Premier League side Ipswich Town for Nigeria Super Eagles forward Femi Azeez, with the Championship club believed to be holding out for a fee closer to £30 million.
A campaign that caught the eye
Azeez delivered one of the standout individual seasons in the Championship, contributing 11 goals and eight assists across 35 appearances for the Lions. His preferred role is on the right flank, where he cuts inside onto his stronger left foot — a combination that has drawn consistent attention from top-flight clubs.
Ipswich first tested Millwall's resolve in the closing stages of the January transfer window, but the south London club refused to budge. The latest £20 million bid, reported by FootballInsider via Football League World, has met the same fate. Stuart Robson of the East Anglian Daily Times had suggested as recently as last week that a deal was unlikely, but Ipswich appear to have pushed forward regardless.
Millwall hold the cards
With Azeez contracted to The Den until the summer of 2028, Millwall are under no pressure to sell. The club's valuation of around £30 million means Ipswich — should they remain serious about bringing him to Suffolk — will need to significantly raise their offer. Whether manager McKenna's side are prepared to meet that figure is the central question as the summer window gathers pace.
A debut to remember for the Super Eagles
Off the pitch, Azeez made an immediate impression after switching his international allegiance from England to Nigeria. He marked his Super Eagles debut with two goals in a 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe in the Unity Cup semi-final in London on Tuesday.
Nigeria are now targeting a fourth consecutive Unity Cup title when they face Jamaica in the final on Saturday. The Reggae Boyz reached the showpiece after beating India 2-0 on Wednesday, and will be chasing their first-ever title in the competition.
Azeez is expected to feature for the Super Eagles in the final — a performance that could only strengthen Millwall's negotiating position further.
