Norwich City's Jose Cordoba Named in Panama's World Cup 2026 Squad

Norwich City defender Jose Cordoba has earned a place in Panama's 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making him the only UK-based player in the selection.
Cordoba, 24, joined the Canaries in 2024 and made 30 appearances this season. His inclusion reflects a consistent campaign that has caught the attention of the Panama national setup.
Panama are drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Ghana. Their opening fixture against England takes place on 27 June in New Jersey — a rematch of sorts, as the two nations were grouped together at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where Panama exited without earning a single point.
This will be only Panama's second appearance at a World Cup, making the tournament a significant occasion for a nation still building its standing in international football. Ghana, also in Group L, will be a familiar opponent for African fans watching the group stage closely.
