Onuachu Shares Turkish Super Lig Golden Boot After 22-Goal Campaign

Paul Onuachu has claimed a share of the Turkish Super Lig golden boot, finishing the season level with Istanbul Başakşehir striker Eldor Shomurodov on 22 goals apiece.
Shomurodov secured the tie on the final day of the campaign, netting against Gaziantep FK to draw level with the Nigeria international and deny him sole ownership of the award.
Trabzonspor history for Onuachu
The result makes Onuachu the sixth Trabzonspor player ever to win the Turkish Super Lig top scorer award — a notable place in the club's history. Fenerbahçe's Anderson Talisca finished third in the scoring charts with 19 goals.
Following in Osimhen's footsteps
Onuachu's achievement comes a season after fellow Nigerian Victor Osimhen dominated the Turkish top-flight. Osimhen set a high benchmark the previous campaign, scoring 26 goals in 30 matches to claim the golden boot outright. In the 2025/26 season, Osimhen contributed 15 goals in 22 league appearances — a strong return, though not enough to retain the top scorer crown.
