Premier League Clubs Queue Up for Millwall's Femi Azeez Ahead of Nigeria Debut

A growing number of Premier League clubs are chasing the signature of Millwall winger Femi Azeez, with Sunderland the latest side to register interest in the 24-year-old Nigerian.
Everton, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Brighton, and Fulham had already been linked with Azeez before Sunderland entered the picture, underlining the widespread attention his performances have attracted.
A standout season in the Championship
Azeez was among the most impressive players in the Sky Bet Championship throughout the 2025/26 campaign, scoring 11 goals and contributing 8 assists across 37 league appearances for Millwall. His form earned him a place in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Season.
Despite his contributions, Millwall narrowly fell short of promotion, losing 2-0 on aggregate to Hull City in the Championship playoff semi-final.
The Lions are not expected to let Azeez leave cheaply. Reports indicate the club will demand a fee in the region of €20 million for the former Reading winger.
Nigeria call-up and debut on the horizon
Off the pitch, Azeez faces an equally significant moment. Eligible to represent England, Spain, and Nigeria internationally, he has chosen the Super Eagles — and his debut could come as early as Tuesday.
Head coach Éric Chelle named Azeez in Nigeria's squad for the Unity Cup in London last week. The winger is expected to earn his first senior cap when the three-time African champions face Zimbabwe's Warriors in the tournament.
His decision to commit to Nigeria will be welcomed by Super Eagles supporters, who have watched closely as a new generation of dual-eligible talents consider their international futures.
