Robertson Set to Join Tottenham After Emotional Liverpool Farewell

Andy Robertson is poised to make the move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer after playing what is believed to be his final game for Liverpool on Sunday, according to The Mirror.

The Scotland international joined Mohamed Salah in making a farewell appearance at Anfield as Liverpool drew 1-1 with Brentford on the final day of the Premier League season. Robertson had announced in April that he would depart the club at the season's end, following Salah through the exit door.

Nine years at Anfield

Robertson arrived at Liverpool from Hull City in 2017 and leaves having made 378 appearances across nine years with the club — a remarkable stint that saw him become one of the most decorated left-backs in the league's history.

Tottenham Hotspur had attempted to secure his signature during the January transfer window, but were unable to finalise a deal at the time. Liverpool were willing to sell the 32-year-old before his contract expired, and Robertson held talks with Spurs, though nothing materialised publicly. It is now understood he has agreed personal terms with the North London club.

Spurs secure survival before closing in on Robertson

Tottenham's ability to pursue the deal was significantly boosted after they secured Premier League survival on the final day. A 1-0 victory over Everton proved enough to confirm 17th place, while West Ham United were relegated in the process.

Robertson will now turn his attention to international duty with Scotland at the World Cup this summer before his club future is formalised.

An emotional send-off

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Robertson reflected on the depth of feeling surrounding his departure.
