Steve Clarke Praises Tartan Army Conduct as Club-Level Pitch Invasions Draw Criticism

Scotland manager Steve Clarke has paid tribute to the Tartan Army's behaviour, holding up the international support as a model of how fans should conduct themselves — in stark contrast to the pitch invasions that have blighted Scottish club football this season.
Clarke's comments came in the wake of Celtic supporters flooding the Celtic Park pitch on Saturday after the Hoops scored the third goal in a 3-1 victory over Hearts that secured the Scottish Premiership title. It was not an isolated incident: Celtic fans also invaded the pitch following a late penalty winner at Motherwell, while an ongoing investigation examines the scenes at the end of the Old Firm Scottish Cup tie at Ibrox in March, when supporters from both sides spilled onto the field after Celtic won a penalty shoot-out.
Clarke points to the Denmark night as an example
Clarke contrasted those scenes with Scotland's historic 4-2 win over Denmark at Hampden Park last November — the result that sent Scotland to their first World Cup since 1998 — when fans stayed in their seats throughout the celebrations.
