Tottenham Close to Signing Andy Robertson After Liverpool Departure

Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of completing a deal for Scotland left-back Andy Robertson, following his exit from Liverpool at the end of this season.
Robertson, 32, made his final appearance for Liverpool in Sunday's match against Brentford, having already confirmed he would leave the club when his contract expires this summer. The two parties have reached an agreement in principle, with minor details still to be wrapped up.
This is not the first time Tottenham have pursued Robertson. During the January transfer window, then-manager Thomas Frank identified the Scotland captain as a target, and a deal was struck between the clubs — only for Liverpool to pull out after they were unable to bring Kostas Tsimikas back from his loan spell at Roma.
A decorated career at Anfield
Robertson leaves Liverpool with a remarkable record: 378 appearances, two Premier League titles, and a UEFA Champions League winners' medal to his name. The experienced defender also boasts 92 international caps for Scotland, and will skipper his country at this summer's World Cup.
Tottenham, who secured their top-flight survival on the final day of the season by defeating Everton under new manager Roberto de Zerbi, will be hoping Robertson's experience and leadership can bolster their squad heading into next campaign.
